About Sankofa

Sankofa is an Akan idea from Ghana: look to the wisdom of the past to help build the future.

For owner Jessica Troupe, that idea belongs in Montclair’s South End, a neighborhood with a long history of Black and brown culture, creativity, and connection. Sankofa Cafe provides space to meet, work, read, and spend time with neighbors.

The cafe serves thoughtfully sourced coffee, teas, pastries, and globally inspired menu items.
